Beachcat Concepts story began with owner, Teena Edwards. Edwards grew up surrounded by California's wine country. Her family spent weekends picking grapes in the local wine regions followed by crushing parties with other wine enthusiasts. After some home fermentation and aging, her family and friends would get together for tasting parties and share homemade meals.
In 1998, Edwards brought her wealth of Silicon Valley experience to South Florida and set up shop as Beachcat Concepts. The formula was to serve the client as if if it was an in-house
"arm" of their company.
In the meantime, Edwards produced Miami Wine Tasters for several years, a wine and food event network, which relaunched her love of wine and food pairings. This brought the company's focus to hospitality marketing: formulating creative themes for restaurants, hotels, and special events featuring wine and food.
